Library Services Loan Periods Books (both recorded and print), magazines
and CDs are checked out for 2 weeks
but may be renewed either by dropping by the library, calling during open
hours, or online. Your librarians will
be happy to provide information about setting up your online account if you
would like. Materials will not be renewed if there is a waiting list for
that item. Movies are checked out for 3 nights and may be renewed for an additional
3 days. Renew in person, by phone during
open hours or online. No reservations are taken for movies. All materials EXCEPT CDs and books containing CDs may be
returned to the book drop outside the front door. CDs do break in the
book return, so please bring them inside. Overdue Fees Fines on books, both
print and recorded, and magazines are $.05 per day. Fines on movies and
museum passes are $1.00 per day. Computers Chester Library has a computer with Internet access
available for
patrons to use for research, browsing the internet, and general word
processing. There is wireless internet
access in the library, but electrical outlets are scarce, so come with a fully
charged battery. A printer is available at a cost of
$0.15 per page printed. Photocopier A photocopier is available for use at a
cost of $0.15 per page. Museum Passes Connecticut River Museum Connecticut River Museum Family Pass provides free admission for two adults and their children or grandchildren. Connecticut State Parks and Forests Pass provides free admission to Connecticut State Parks (including Hammonasset, Gillette Castle, Dinosaur State Park and Rocky Neck) and is issued each year by the DEP for use from April through mid-October. Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art Coming Soon Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art Visit the first full-scale museum in the U.S. devoted to picture book art. Pass provides free admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children. Florence Griswold Museum Florence Griswold Museum Valid for all museum exhibits, this pass provides free admission for 2 adults and 2 children (under 18). Mystic Aquarium Mystic Aquarium The Mystic Aquarium pass allows admission for two adults and two children ages 3-12 at a reduced fee. This pass is valid year ‘round and is given to the Library by the Aquarium. Mystic Seaport Mystic Seaport Coming Soon With one pass for each day of the week, this membership allows ample access to activities at the Seaport. Pass provides free admission for 2 adults and up to 3 children or grandchildren under 18. Membership provided by the Chester Library Board of Trustees. New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain Museum of American Art Pass provides free admission to NBMAA, as well as free admission to The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London and 9 other New England museums. The Peabody Museum Peabody Museum of Natural History Coming Soon Pass provides $5.00 off each of up to 4 admissions per visit (undiscounted admission fee is $7 per adult, $6 per senior adult and $5 per child over 3 years in age). Love those dinosaurs! Pass is not valid during the month of February. Roger Williams Zoo Roger Williams Park Zoo Coming Soon A reduced admission pass, this one also provides admission to Beardsley Park Zoo in Bridgeport. Wadsworth Atheneum Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art The Wadsworth Atheneum ARTpass allows free general museum admission for two adults and two children. Additional fees may apply for special exhibitions. This pass is generously provided by the Museum. |
